In case your "Sue" flags go up for the character introduced here, you can rest assured that A.) Damien is most certainly not the main character, and B.) Everything that seems... out of place does have a purpose and explanation.

I'm really a bit ashamed it took more than a month for any of us to comment on this, because it's really excellent, and an old regular deserves better than that.

I missed the GPS errors you mentioned but caught one more small one near the end, but the writing is still well done. You provide an exceptional level of detail, but still leave a lot unexplained to follow up on later. I hope you continue with this despite the lack of comments. HBOFF's just not as busy as it used to be.
