My entry is now hurtling through the tubes of the internets. Here's hoping...

Best of luck to all who entered!

Changed the name and some of the elements of the story but my story is done and has been submitted.

hboff.contest@gmail.com

sent it twice again, just in case, did you get it?

edit: I was using google doc's 'share' function to add as attachment, but just in case it wasn't working, I put it in rtf and sent it over again.

Blargh, I hope that "we don't mind if it's a little late" is still in effect. I've been busy all day but can wrap it up tomorrow, I think.

I now have three samples of your twisted imagination.

As long as it isn't too late in the day.

Sent mine back on the third, but re-read it earlier and found a "his" where there should have been a "her". It sticks out like a sore thumb, since the only character around at the time is female, but a single, simple mistake like that shouldn't affect judging, correct?
I've been a bit paranoid since I found that. Razz

The occasional small grammatical error won't reflect poorly on the author; we've all made that one stupid little mistake that we didn't catch until too late. What affects your grammar score is an obvious lack of understanding sentence structure and/or English, multiple GPS errors, comma-whoring, that sort of thing.

Hope it won't be a problem but sometimes MS Word thinks I mean to do something else with grammar or spelling when I really don't. So those green (and some red lines, which most likely shouldn't really be there) are spread throughout the document. Sad

Green lines are fine, in some cases. Red lines indicate grammatical errors.

For me, red lines usually indicate misspelled words or unintentional word combinations. That's usually a user-preference issue anyway...not stored in the file itself.
