Well-written and looks like a good series, but I'm a bit confused as to how this ties into Halo Universe.

As fow how it ties into the Halo Universe: short answer, very loosely. The conflict detailed in this series was so devastating that it led to the forerunner of what would become the UNSC, a unified and empowered governing body. It was realized that without it, humanity would destroy itself.

I was going to include this explanation in the submission through the magic of a quote from a future historian, but it didn't really fit, so I decided to put it in this helpful author's note instead.

Wasn't the UNSC created as a response to the Freiden-Koslovic Interplanetary Wars in 2164?

Since that's actual Halo Cannon. Furthermore, in 2170, a single unified earth governement emerged.

True, and its a valid point nonetheless. Yet if memory serves, the UN was in disarry untiol the Interplanetary wars or some time shortly before it.

J-117: I shall write in some history, then. For a time, the newly empowered UN dissipated power from the nation-states to a more global union. Geographical coalitions soon replaced nation states and power again began to concentrate. It became clear that a more robust union was needed to keep humanity from destroying itself. After the Koslovics and Friedens were destroyed, there began conferences which created an alliance that spanned the globe: a unifed earth government. The UN created after the conflict in this series was the precursor to this move.
