A well-written writeup of the familiar video, with some added plot and explanation. It works well. Good work, sir.

I agree that it was well-written, but I just can't see the point. I mean, we've almost all seen the trailers in question, so this doesn't give us anything new. It's the same reason that I really don't like Halo: The Flood: despite all the insights it adds into Halo's story, its central plot has nothing in it that you couldn't gain from the game.

There was a little "extra footage" as it were, and there's a theory or two behind the actions that gets revealed. I didn't say it was, say Commander or Dies Irae. This story gets a "good for what it is" from me.

Ah, very true. Didn't read it closely enough.

Yeah, this is "good for what it is." One small thing, though:
| Quote: | | Although the highly decorated Brute reacted as fast as he could, winding back the mighty Fist of Rukt, |
The Fist of Rukt is (presumably) back on Delta Halo with the corpse of its late owner. The hammer seen in the trailer is similar, but very different. _________________ When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

Well, I wonder--does the Fist of Rukt (hehehe, tFoR) have to be only one singular item? Or could there be more than one? Could it even be the title of a Chieftan's weapon, or at least the title of the Chieftan's weapon, in the same way that "Caesar" was the title of the one who held the Emperor's seat, and was used as a name, but not just one solitary person throughout all history? Or could it somehow be something even more alien, as would be appropriate to a, well, alien culture?

True. But, seeing as this is pretty much a one-shot fic, I'd still prefer to see something generic, like "gravity hammer," or something. Sure, one could go into the implications of the title and such in a longer story, but in a one-shot I'd rather just get to the story and not bother explaining one minor discrepancy. _________________ When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.
