I stopped reading this when I hit the line *everything becomes silent* and just skimmed.
This is not MSN chat-line roleplay. That's all I'm gonna say. I don't think I can help you much, I'm gonna suggest some reading. Yeeah - and something half-decent. Something mainstream is generally a good place to start. The Halo books aren't actually half bad, so start reading them. Observe how they handle the settings and what goes on, and you can start building on that style, and as time goes by and you become better at writing and more confident in your skills, you can develop your own.
As for 'Yellow vs. Green," truth be told, we've seen enough RvB ripoffs on this site to stretch from here to the sun. Find something original. Parodying something is acceptable, but trying to piggyback your way up on someone elses' work will get you attention, but only the wrong type.

Sorry that this is more of...a spoof, but I wanted to make a funny story.
But I will say one thing, I'm currently working on a much more original story that follows the Spec Ops commando, Taro 'Rakamee, and how his
proof effects the conflict of Brute versus Elite. Thats all I'm saying though.
ps. "I'm gonna suggest some reading. Yeeah - and something half-decent. Something mainstream is generally a good place to start. The Halo books aren't actually half bad, so start reading them." end quote.
First of all, I'm just writing a story to get some laughs, second Halo is my favorite franchise, third I have read all three of the books, including the graphic novel, and I pre-ordered the Ghosts of Onyx.
Pss. My next story will definately pwn YvG |

Yeah, I have to concur with the first poster here.
I found this just too difficult to read, with the complete lack of code, the characters' dialogue and all. |

You can just use the quote coding to quote someone. There's a handy-dandy little button in the upper right corner.
Now, your reasoning:
-"I'm just writing a story for some laughs"...I hate to be judgmental, but that's not very good motivation.
-"Halo is my favorite franchise"...how nice.
-"I have read all three of the books, including the graphic novel"...if I felt like being a dick I'd say that there are five books including the graphic novel, but that would be utterly pointless, and I know what you meant, so...good start.
-"I pre-ordered the Ghosts of Onyx"...it won't contribute that much to your understanding of Halo, but a worthwhile read nonetheless.
Well, I hope your next story is an improvement.[/list] |
