| Halo meets the Matrix. For some reason, I find this appealing. |

I like how you added under slung grenade lunchers, but you need to give them a number designation such as M-720.
The idea of Cassandra being Johns wife is also disterbing, being that John thought of his fellow spartans as siblings, and I dont see John as a back woods hick |

| To be purely by the book, they never say exactly who Cassandra is. We actually don't know if she's a Spartan or not. I believe the general agreement is that she is the one Spartan too injured to continue active duty, and she does know John well enough to refer to him by name in the 'Conversations from the Universe' booklet, but it's not confirmed. There's room for conjecture on anyone's part. |

| what smack says is true but remember that they all spent at least 8 years together (from induction to augumentation). Any way I think she was wounded sometime after augumentation being that the wounds were all over her body sugesting plasma burns, and she has to be a spartan in order for her to know Johns name, being that Halsey and the spartans are the only ones to call each other by their names and not their number. |

Cassandra is John's feminine split-personality.
You should see him on the weekends. *Shudders* |

Hahah this seems very cool. It's Halo, Matrix-style. Or maybe the Matrix, Halo-style.. hell I don't know but this series looks pretty promising. So the Covenant have all of them jacked-in, huh... interesting.
It's really good, the only criticism I think I have to offer is that just saying "the air felt artificial" or whatever doesn't quite convey what John was experiencing. I don't know, maybe something like "the air brushing against John's hand somehow felt distant and vague, as if his hand had become numb"
9/10 I can't wait to see how this plays out. |

| Wonderful "crossover"-y thing you've got here. The humor with the elevator was very well done. Poor John...how WILL he get out? |

Good.... a bit short feeling but good. I wonder if the cheif's son is going to play a role such as *dum dum dum* the computer whiz on the other side!
Kinda interesting eh? I wonder if the cheif will become "The One" or he is going to pull off matrix like sh** such as running off walls and drop kicking people 20 feet away.
9/10 pretty good |

OK, let me explain. CASSANDRA IS NOT A SPARTAN. Thanks. Cassandra is just a cool name, so I chucked her in as MC's wife. So far in the series (I've finished Ch 4) she's nothing special, and certainly doesn't do anything cool. At least not yet. She's just an ordinary housewife, and John loves her.....to what extent? Hmmm.... Anyway, they met in a bar or something, I dunno. She's not connected with her past life....I think.
OK, let me explain again. I began this series with John as Neo, sort of. The first two chapters certainly are like it. However, there are NOT going to be any characters from the Matrix, and John is very different from Neo. He's around forty years older, he's married, he has a life, children, friends, and buckets and buckets of money. He finds later on that he's got some rather odd luck.... But I won't go into it.
Let me give you a little teaser. Will becomes pretty big in this. Unless I decide to kill him off. And he's a cool guy.
Good point about the under-barrel grenade launcher thing, by the way. I just put that in because there's one on the SMG in HL2 (I play GW/AOEIII now). |

| SMGs dont have grenade launcher, assault rifles do. I thinck you are talking about the M-16 with the under slung M-203. Altho I dont have the game to confirm this. |

| There is a grenade launcher on the SMG in Half Life 2 though. I actually just rented that game this week and beat it, so I know what he's talking about. |
