If there's one thing I love, it's a strong beginning to a good story. I especially loved the interaction between John and Linda, that went very well. Go get published, seriously.

One thing I really enjoy is catching references in people's stories. (As if the story weren't painfully obvious about who the boys were) It now appears as though you're doing it, too, et tu Brute?

Hey Main! Sorry I read this late. Nice chapter, liked the conflict between John and Linda (reduced sexual drive....?) and Fred got quite fleshed out too. Gives a different facet to just the faceless soldiers. Nice how you tied in the Jade Armored King story with the rest as well.

But does that mean Patterson's the pendant?

The pendant is an object that will give the wearer powers. Patterson is just the first boy king who wants the pendant. It'll play out later in the chapters.
